Reference Services

The Library offers many services to its members of staff and visitors with written permission. These services are offered to staff as efficiently as possible.

Staff/users are given updates on all the initiatives of the library such as newly acquired materials and other useful events. Content pages of all newly acquired materials are scanned and posted on the intranet for the attention of all users. This can be accessed under the caption,New Books Arrival

Information alerts on topical issues from the subscribed journals and other sources such as new websites, newsletters and relevant topics of interest are also posted on the intranet to apprise our users. This may be accessed via: Information Alert (IDPS).

Borrowing Books\Journals

Staff would have to be registered to be able to borrow books from the Library. Most books can be taken out on loan for a period of three weeks, with the exception of journals and reference books, which are for use in the Library only. Journals which are 6 months old can also be borrowed for two weeks

Returning Books

Borrowed Library books and Journals are to be returned during the Library’s opening hours. i.e. Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5pm. It is required that staff who are due for retirement return all borrowed materials to the Library before their final exit from the Bank.

Renewing Books

Borrowed books may be renewed for two consecutive times. Item must be brought in personally to be checked and reissued.

• Bringing the items to the Library
• A book that has been renewed for three (3) occasions must be returned to the Library to be discharged and reissued should the user want to use it further.

Lost Books/Journals

Please note, if you lose or damage a library book it must be reported to the Library as soon as possible.
You will be billed three (3) times the actual cost of the book or journal,

The Library will accept a replacement copy. Lost books should be paid for or replaced as soon as possible as they will prevent further renewing and borrowing.
